This is Sgt Geoff Hurren's account of an eventful voyage from Port Said, Egypt to Gibraltar on board an Army Motor Fishing Vessel.

It’s 195_ and a crew of 5 soldiers have been tasked with returning a Motor Fishing Vessel form the Bitter Lakes on the Suez Canal to the UK by sea. As could be expected for a winter sea passage through this area at this time it was an eventful journey with some interesting encounters. A journey they did not quite manage to complete.
