Mick was a Sergeant serving under the 'crossed swords' ensign of the British Royal Army Service Corps, Water Transport Division. During his time he travelled the world serving in Egypt during the Suez crisis, Pre-Gadhafi Libya and over in the Far East.

Mick Fricker and his brother Biff, both served in the RASC as their father had done previously. The Brothers are like chalk and cheese but nevertheless got on well, with Biff being technically and academically gifted and Mick being more of a lad and a rough cut soldier. Mick’s experiences were global including witnessing an H-Bomb test, involvement in the Borneo Confrontation, and service on St Kilda including being caught in an infamous hurricane. Mick still lives and has contributed to this recording and others in his own indefatigable manner.
